Seriously guys, where has October gone? One minute we were casually basking in the lovely Autumnal weather, the next thing we know, the clocks have gone back with Halloween tomorrow night! Plus we were at the John Lewis Christmas event last night! (more to follow coming up on the blog). So we hope you’ve got some some spookily fun activities planned. It will be a fairly quiet one for us, perhaps some scary films with a glass of prosecco and some monkey nuts, as we’re off to theon Sunday -well worth a visit if you love your cakes & home baking like us. We’ll just try not to spend too much money on all the goodies at the farmers’ markets!
October has also been a busy month for us, more so for Nicola, because as you probably know she moved into her brand spanking new (and her own) flat! So she’s been busy painting, wallpapering, sorting broken down boilers, unpacking and generally getting the place looking fab. Once she’s settled we can’t wait to do some exploring of the southside of Glasgow, so expect plenty of reviews from there coming your way. If you think of anywhere that is definitely worth a visit then let us know.
Incase you missed any of our October posts, here’s what we got up to;
Nicola picked her favourite new kitchen trends for Autumn (and what’s she hoping we’ll all buy her as her moving in presents). You can see what made the cut here.
To celebrate the return on the BBC Good Food Show Scotland, we got in the kitchen to practice Mary Berry’s chocolate malt cake. Just incase we meet her of course… maybe take her a slice along to judge 😉
We dined out at Cubatas in Glasgow for the first time. See what we thought here. And to work off all the food we’ve been eating we’re back on the fitness bandwagon. Here’s our top tips to stay motivated during Autumn just incase you need a bit of a push like us. How’s this for a killer workout that’s going round online at the moment? Here’s hoping this isn’t put into practice at Lindsay’s morning bootcamp. Her full name equals to 175 burpees! Groan!
However, when your Saturday nights look like this, then the pain is worth it. Thank you Moskito, Glasgow for some brilliant bites and delicious cocktails last weekend.
So what does Novemeber hold? Apart from thenext week, we’ll be busy in the flat doing odd jobs and shopping for homeware. We’re also looking forward to our next family day out to celebrate our dad’s birthday, venue TBC and Lindsay is on dog sitting duties for two weeks while the parents jet off to Barbados… we’re not jealous at all. Plus we’re super excited to go see the new James Bond film and panto season officially starts at Lindsay’s work. Roll on opening night for some festive fun. Oh not it’s not… Oh yes it is… You get the idea.
Have a good November everyone!
